Restaurant De Nieuwe Winkel
At De Nieuwe Winkel everything revolves around plants. It is a restaurant with two Michelin stars for its cuisine and a green star from Michelin for sustainability. Chef Emile van der Staak is concerned with sustainability and the future of the world. Partly for this reason, the kitchen is predominantly plant-based, organic and seasonal. The restaurant is located in a former orphanage that was once to be demolished but has been preserved by activists. De Nieuwe Winkel has been located in the building since June 2019. The menu changes often, that's why we don't have one online. The examples are mostly from old menu's. But what is certain is that you will be surprised by all the flavors. There is a choice between a six- and nine-course menu, and a three-course menu is also possible during the week. Reservations are necessary, and also far in advance: for example, they are completely booked in 2023. Fortunately, there is a reserve list. + More info

De Knollentuin
De Knollentuin (the Knoll Garden) is a vegetarian bakery. You can go here for crusty baguettes, warm croissants, fresh brownies and much more. There are sweet options but also many savory treats. Among all the goodies there are also many vegan options, such as apple pies, brownies and samosas. And everything is 100% organic. On Saturdays they bake breads with seaweed, to combat any iodine deficiency.
